Shaun has been a Non-Executive Director of The Wrekin Housing Group since March 2019 and is nominated by Telford and Wrekin Council, from which, Wrekin was created. Shaun has been leader of Telford and Wrekin Council since May 2016 having first been elected as a Councillor in 2011. Since 2023, Shaun has chaired the Local Government Association having previously served as Senior Vice Chairman.

Under Shaun’s leadership, Telford and Wrekin Council has won multiple awards including various ‘council of the year’ has ‘outstanding’ children services and ‘exceptional’ adult services.

Shaun is a none-practicing Solicitor having graduated from Aberystwyth University and Staffordshire Law School; he has also completed a Leadership practice at Birmingham University.

Shaun’s passion for social housing comes from his childhood, as his family lived in a Wrekin Housing Group home, and many of his family still do now. He has also seen first-hand the difference social housing makes to people’s lives in the respect of the regeneration of housing within his ward of Malinslee and Dawley Bank, and across wider Telford.
