Windows

Replacing your windows will bring your home up to the high standards we and our customers expect in our properties.

Will I be notified when the work will be carried out to my property?

You will receive notification if your property is in this years’ programme.

Who will be doing the work?

The Group employs both contractors and in-house Commercial Services Team to carry out its window programmes. They will contact you to arrange a visit to measure up and answer your questions.

How do I know that I’m giving access to the right people?

Whenever a contractor comes to your home, please ask them to produce their identity card.

Accessing your property

If you are out when the contractor calls round, they will leave a card with a phone number for you to call to arrange another appointment.

Asbestos survey

Some properties may contain asbestos, so to comply with health-and-safety regulations we may need to do an asbestos survey before the work can be done.

If we already have this information about your property from previous work, a new survey will not be needed.

What should I do before the work starts?

Please let us know about any special requirements you may have well in advance, so that we can plan the work better.

This may simply be telling us your holiday dates, as we will need access to your home to do the work, but any helpful information you can give us means that we can more easily meet your needs.

How long does the work take?

Installing your new windows should only take a day and the contractors will tell you the date when they will do the work.

After your new windows have been fitted, the contractors will show you how to use the locks, vents and any other fittings.

What do I need to do during the work?

Please take care around your home while the work is being done. Ensure your children and pets are kept safe and do not get in the way of the contractors.

After the work is completed

After the contractors have finished the work, they will clear up and remove your old windows, leaving the work area tidy.

How will I benefit from having new windows?

  • They will improve the appearance of your home.
  • Your home will be more secure.
  • Your home will be easier to heat, which will save you money.
  • The new windows need less maintenance.

Who can I talk to if I have any questions?

Please call the contact number on your letter or ask for the External Works Team on 01952 217100.

If you would like to give feedback, please see the compliment and complaints page.
