Things to do this bank holiday weekend

Our Comms team would like to share some ideas of things to do this bank holiday weekend.

If you are going out and about, procedures and bookings at attractions such as museums and cinemas have changed in recent months.

Here are a few things to bear in mind:

  • You will probably need to book a time slot in advance, check the websites before you leave.
  • Going in the afternoon (after 2.30pm) may be less busy.
  • You will need to wear a face covering in indoor settings.
  • Once there, follow the guidance like one way systems, to keep safe.

Markets are now trading again and if you fancy browsing stalls somewhere a little different try Penkridge market near Stafford, which is open on a Wednesday and Saturday. There is a variety of stalls and parking on site is free of charge.

Weston Park will be hosting a summer food and craft market this Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August. There will be around 30 traders and the event is taking place in the park grounds. Tickets cost £3.50 plus booking fee, are limited in numbers and must be booked in advance.

This weekend is your last chance to enter our 2021 art calendar competition. We are looking to showcase local talent and 12 winning entries will be published in the 2021 calendar with the overall winner taking pride of place on the front cover. Click here for details of how to enter.

Where ever you go this week have a great time and remember to stay alert, control the virus and save lives.
