Rural homes ready for residents

A new development of over 20 new homes has been completed in Gobowen.

Caldwell Gardens, a mixture of bungalows, houses and apartments, is a Wrekin Housing Trust development on the site of the Old Coal Yard, who have made best use of the site by providing 22 new affordable homes for the community.

The new homes were started in January last year and consist of four two-bed bungalows, two wheelchair-user bungalows, eight one-bed apartments, five two-bed houses and three houses with three bedrooms.

The homes were handed over to the Trust and their new residents yesterday (Thursday 21st).

Alan Mason, Clerk of Works for the Trust, said: "This is a great site providing a good number of affordable, quality, energy-efficient homes. It's a pleasure to hand them over to the residents who we know will have a great place to call home."

David Howell, Managing Director of Primoris Homes, said: "From concept to completion the whole process of developing and constructing the homes at Caldwell Gardens, with The Wrekin Housing Trust, has been an absolute pleasure. We have managed to build the homes on time and on budget and they provide a lovely environment in which to live."
