Celebrating Apprenticeships

At Wrekin we have always invested in the careers of young people by creating apprenticeships and traineeships, providing opportunities for learning and development.

This week is National Apprenticeship Week so to mark the occasion we wanted to celebrate our 23 apprentices. They take on varied roles from the traditional trades to business administration and from nursing to ICT.

They work as members of a team with active mentoring and on the job learning opportunities along with college work. We partner with a number of local providers including Telford College, Shrewsbury College, North Shropshire College and Keele University.

Paul Birch, Group Head of Human Resources said “Our apprentices add so much value to our organisation, their team colleagues and most importantly to our customers as we all work each day to make a difference to people’s lives. This National Apprenticeship Week I wanted share a big thank you with all our apprentices and our partner providers.”

We are also actively providing work placements through the Kickstart scheme. The 45 placements are available now. Qualifying individuals should contact their job centre work coach to find out more.

Watch out for new apprenticeship opportunities with us this spring.
