Recipe for E-briefing
Ingredients:
- Interested employees
- PC’s with e-mail access
- Newsy items and media coverage
- Communications Team
Our excellent communications have just got better, with a new innovative way of keeping employees up to date. The Trust uses a daily e-briefing to inform employees of any media coverage on that day and also any general Trust news. Friday’s e-briefings contain a list of all press releases sent out that week, so that area teams are aware of what is being publicised in their area, and details all the in-house training courses taking place the following week.
A weekly Employee Briefing newsletter is an informal way of letting employees know about things like new starters, secondments, job opportunities, and thank yous from customers.
A monthly managers’ meeting, lasting a full morning, keeps managers and team leaders aware of corporate activity and often includes guest speakers, presentations, networking opportunities and sometimes even quizzes (work related of course!). An electronic summary of these meetings is made available to all employees.
Results:
- Electronic communications are quick, convenient and cost effective
- E-briefing also acts as a sign posting system to employees, providing links to enable them to get more information either from the Trust’s own Intranet, from another source or key
contact within the Trust
- Well informed employees are happier, motivated and perform better!
