The Wrekin Housing Trust Board Members

Our Board – is made up of 11 members. 4 are tenants, 1  is from the Council, 5 are independent members and one independent Chair).

They are:

Bob Floyd
Chair of the Trust Board, member of the Finance committee, Joint Remuneration Committee and Continuous Improvement Working Group

  • He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • He has 35 years experience within social housing mainly at Director and Chief Executive level.
  • He led in the setting up of a stock transfer RSL as Chief executive for two years and now undertakes Interim Management through his own business.
  • Recent roles have been with the Cobalt (LHT Group), Wulvern, Stockport Homes and currently as Director with Stafford & Rural Homes.

Mandy Holcroft
Vice Chair of the Trust Board, Chair of the Joint Audit & Risk Management Committee and a member of the Continuous Improvement Working group and Joint Remuneration Committee.

  • Is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
  • She has worked in both local authorities and housing associations and currently works as Assistant Director for the Accord Housing Association.
  • Mandy is involved in the board of Steps to Work which promotes economic activities through training and sustainable employment and also a member of the Walsall CAB Management Committee.

Gillian Phillips
Member of the Trust Board and Finance Committee

  • Gillian has lived in the Telford area all her life and prior to caring for her disabled children she worked in retail.
  • She has been involved with the Tenants' Panel for a number of years and was nominated onto the Trust board in 2006.
  • She was Chair of an action group set up to campaign against the closure of a respite centre - which was successful in its mission.

Len Harley
Member of the Trust board

John Sercombe
Member of the Trust board, Development Committee, Partnering Risk Panel and Continuous Improvement Working Group.

  • Has technical, professional and managerial experience in the maintenance of housing stock.
  • John is a Chartered Civil Structural Engineer and a Chartered Builder and has experience of working in the public and private sectors.

Jafferhusein Kapasi
Member of the Trust board, Joint Audit & Risk Management Committee and Diversity Working Group.

  • Jaffer is Chair of Asra Midlands Housing, where he has been on the board for 20 years. His professional background is as an accountant and he has assisted a number of commercial companies and bodies in the voluntary and statutory sectors.
  • He is a board member of several organisations including Leicestershire Asian Business Association, Homecome Ltd.
  • He is also a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters and the Home Secretary's representative on the Selection Panel of Lay Justices.

Doug Wright
Member of the group and Trust boards, the Partnering Risk Panel, Continuous Improvement Working Group and Chair of the Development Committee.

  • He is an Associate Member of the Insititute of Bankers, working for the Nationwide Building Society for 25 years.
  • Doug was instrumental in establishing Art Homes Ltd, a community finance company that aims to provide owner-occupiers with the funds to repair and improve their homes.

Sue Rushton
Member of the Trust board, Development Committee and Diversity Working Group.

  • Sue has been a tenant for five years and a member of the Tenant's Panel for three years.
  • She has worked in customer services for an insurance company and the Job Centre and has also worked in the Blists Hill Museum.
  • Sue has been involved in the Tenant Auditor project and is also keen to make a contribution to the Trust's decision making in the interests of tenants.

Andy Copson
Member of the Trust board and Development Committee.

  • Andy is the Managing Director of a development and regeneration company.
  • His wide experience of the construction industry began with work as an apprentice joiner and he has held management positions in a numberof private and statutory sector organisations.

Ian Fletcher
Member of the Trust board

Margo Brotherton
Member of the Trust board, Finance Committee and Continuous Improvement Working Group.

  • Margo has been involved in community activities since 1982 including the Electrical Association for Women, Newport Townswomen's Guild and from that elected onto the Shropshire and Mid-Wales Federation Committee setting up Guilds in the region.
  • She is also involved in Newport Cottage care, organising events and gaining experience in public relations.
  • Margo joined the Tenants' Panel in 2003 and the board in 2004.
