affer is the Chair of Asra Midlands Housing where he has been on the board for over 20 years.  His professional background is as an accountant and he has assisted a number of commercial companies and bodies in the voluntary and statutory sectors. 

Jaffer is a board member of several organisations including Leicestershire Asian Business Association, Homecome Ltd (a company set up by Leicester City Council) and a member of the Court at the University of Leicester. 

Jaffer is a board member of the Wrekin Housing Group, Policy Scrutiny Committe and Chair of the Finance Committee.
