About Us:
The Wrekin Housing Trust has over 1,200 properties across 33 Sheltered Housing Schemes, covering the Telford and Newport area. Each Sheltered Housing scheme is individual and has its own unique features.
Sheltered Housing is about providing a quality home that is safe and secure, with the assurance of being able to access help and support when most needed. It aims to enable independent living and encourage happy, healthy and fulfilled lifestyles
Freedom and independence
Sheltered Housing means you have the independence to live life to the full. Tenants have their own key to their own front door with the added security and peace of mind of being able to get help 24 hours a day 365 days a year in an emergency.
Emergency alarm system
All sheltered housing properties have the added benefit of being fitted with a community alarm system, which enables tenants to raise the alarm in the event of a medical or social care emergency.

• Repairs and maintenance (in hours & out of hours)
• Grounds Maintenance
Friends and friendship
A range of communal facilities are available where tenants are able to socialise and meet other people living within the scheme as well as those who come and join in scheme events from the local community.
The Scheme Manager
Their role is to:
• Offer support and guidance to enable independent living
• Complete support plans to assess individual needs
• Organise and facilitate social activities on and off the sheltered Housing Scheme
• Provide "The Trust On Your Door Step" to help with all housing matters
Scheme Managers are available Monday to Friday during the hours of 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
How can I apply?
Sheltered Housing provided low-level support for people who are over the age of 60 or 50 + with a physical or sensory disability.
We let our homes using a Choice Based Lettings system called Choose Your Home. Sheltered Housing properties are only available to applicants who are registered on Choose Your Home. To register log on to www.chooseyourhome.org.uk or phone 01952 217101
