Sheltered housing provides low-level support services to help older people, usually those aged over 60, maintain their privacy and independence in a safe and friendly environment.

We have over 30 sheltered housing schemes across Telford and Newport. These are groups of flats or bungalows with:

• a scheme manager service
• a 24 hour emergency call system with a visiting response service if needed
• a daily call to make sure you have no problems
• communal facilities, including tenants' lounge, laundry and social activities.

In some circumstances, sheltered housing is available to disabled people under the age of 60 depending on their individual needs.
