24 hour help at the touch of a button…

The Wrekin Alarm Telephone Call Helpline (WATCH) offers you peace of mind, to you and your loved ones, letting you live independently, with the reassurance that help is available at the touch of a button – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

WATCH Alarms for your peace of mind

How can I benefit from the WATCH service?

Independence is important to most people, but you and your family need to know that help is at hand should you need it.The WATCH service is ideal for anybody who feels at risk in their home, whether this is because of age, disability, illness or vulnerability. They are also reassuring if you have been a victim of crime, or if you fear crime.

How do they work?

The WATCH service works via an alarm unit that is connected to your telephone – there is no need for special wiring. By pressing a single button on the unit, assistance is available at any time. You will also receive a portable button that can be worn as a pendant around your neck or on your wrist. The button will work anywhere in your home and a powerful microphone on the alarm unit will enable the alarm centre to hear you even if you are in a different room. If you are unable to speak, we will still be able to identify your name and address so we can send somebody to your aid.

How can I get an alarm?

Your property can be fitted with an alarm from the WATCH service as long as you have a telephone line connected. It’s easy to apply to have an alarm unit fitted. Simply call the Supported Housing Unit and we will arrange for a demonstration, where we can explain the service in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
