Morton Court, Dawley, TF4 2NP

Morton Court is located in the Dawley area of Telford and has 48 self-contained properties consisting of:

• 15 bungalows, a mix of one or two bedrooms
• 33 flats, a mix of one or two bedrooms

All internal flats have a videophone door entry system, which allows tenants to see and speak to visitors, and to open the door remotely without having to leave their flat.

Lift
The first floor flats are accessible by a lift, which is large enough to accommodate wheelchairs and mobility scooters

Communal Facilities
The scheme has a number of communal facilities where tenants are able to socialise and meet each other. They include:

• Kitchen
• Laundry
• Scooter store

Guest Bedroom
Morton Court benefits from a guest bedroom where relatives or friends can stay overnight when visiting. The guest bedroom has two single beds, with en-suite facilities. The guest bedroom can be booked for a small charge and for a maximum of two weeks, although exceptions can be made in certain circumstances.

Communal Garden
The landscaped grounds are only available at the rear, for tenants and their visitors and are maintained by the Wrekin Housing Trust's Grounds Maintenance Team. 

Mobility scooter - Landlords' permission
We recognise that use of mobility scooters can improve independence. However for fire safety reasons, where the property type is a flat, the landlord's permission must be sought and granted before purchasing a scooter.

Pets
Tenants living in an internal flat are not allowed to keep cats and dogs, unless it is a service dog - a service dog is a type of assistance dog specifically trained to help people who have a disability including visual or hearing impairment.
Tenants are allowed to keep pets such as a small caged bird, or fish.

Morton Court is close to Dawley District Centre, which is a short walking distance from all properties. Some of the facilities you can find in Dawley are:

Scheme Manager
The Scheme Manager role is to:

• Offer support and guidance to enable independent living.
• Complete support plans to assess individual needs
• Organise and facilitate social activities on and off the sheltered housing scheme.
• Provide "The Trust on your doorstep" to help with housing matters.

Fire Safety
All sheltered housing properties are fitted with a smoke detection system, which is linked to the emergency alarm and would automatically trigger an alarm call to the visiting Scheme Manager when on duty or go through to the 24 hours emergency alarm call receiving centre.

It is recommended that tenants test the smoke alarm monthly basis.

The tenant's fire safety leaflet is available and will be issued to each tenant during the sign up process.
