When you move into one of our properties, we give you decorating vouchers for paint, wallpaper, brushes and rollers so that you can decorate your home to your own taste.

However we discovered that less than half of these vouchers were being used and we wanted to find out why.

We asked a group of tenants and they told us that the cost of the paint, the distance to the shop and the difficulty of carrying the goods home were all reasons why the vouchers weren't used.

As a result of asking some other housing associations what they did, we asked Dulux/ICI to come and make a presentation of their scheme to the tenants group and some of our staff.

Their new scheme has several benefits:

• It uses Dulux Decorating Centres – There are 8 stores within easy access of our Trust properties including Telford, Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury
• Goods can be bought in person, by telephone or on the website
• Each of the stores are able to mix any one of 12,000 colours on site, which gives you a huge choice
• Goods are at a special discounted rate
• Everything comes with FREE DELIVERY
• You can make use of the expert advice of the staff

Afterwards tenants and staff were so impressed they decided to run a three month trial.
