Employees raise thousands for charity
08 October 2012
Employees of the Trust and Telford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust have raised over £10,000 for Macmillan in four years by giving up their time to raise money for the charity.
This year's fundraisers baked cakes at home to sell to colleagues and gave up their lunch breaks to put on a special BBQ, raffle and tombola for employees, as well as holding the much-fought over bake-off. A fantastic £2476 was raised this year alone.
Rachael Cooper, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in Shropshire, visited employees to thank them for giving up their time to raise money for the charity, which helped over 1.7 million people with cancer last year.
Rachel said: "It's amazing that the team at The Wrekin Housing Trust have raised so much for Macmillan and it will make a massive difference to people affected by cancer, so a huge well done to everyone. The Wrekin Housing Trust is the biggest coffee morning host in Shropshire in terms of the money raised each year."
