Trust tenants show off their green fingers! Meet the winners of our garden competition.

Garden competition winner 2010
Throughout the Summer, residents of The Wrekin Housing Trust have been making sure their gardens were top notch, to be in with a chance of winning the Trust's gardening competition.

The competition was launched in the April edition of the Trust's newsletter, Trust Talks, which goes out to all tenants of the Trust. The entries were of an exceptionally high standard and it was a hard task choosing between the fantastic gardens.

Judging took place recently with the judges including Chair of the Trust's Tenants' Panel Len Harley and members of the landscape and marketing teams. The winners chosen were as follows:

First place – Gary Provan (chief gardener), John Sothan (garden designer) and the
residents of Maddocks Court, Wellington –wonderful gardens, baskets and pots and a
great joint community effort!

Second place – Mr and Mrs Harris of Stirchley with their colourful garden and pristine veg patch.

Third place – Margaret Yardley of Chockleys Drive for her lovely rear garden, bursting with plants.

And a Special Interest Award went to Mr and Mrs Fellows of Brookside for their unusual and fun miniature garden.

The winners will be featured in the next edition of Trust Talks, which goes out later this month.
