The Trust received the award at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the NEC on Wednesday 12th May.

The RoSPA Awards scheme promotes reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work, and also encourages organisations to develop robust health and safety management systems. Sponsored by NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), the RoSPA awards grade achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels, and the Trust has been given the top award possible.

David Rawlins, RoSPA's awards manager said: "The Wrekin Housing Trust has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. Organisations that do this deserve to have such dedication recognised and that's where the RoSPA Awards come in. As well as there being clear ethical reasons and legal requirements for good health and safety management, there is also a strong business case. RoSPA is delighted to publicly honour organisations which have demonstrated their work to improve performance in this sphere."

Tim Munro, Human Resources Consultant at The Wrekin Housing Trust said: "We're delighted to receive the gold award from RoSPA, which reflects the hard work of all Trust employees in maintaining high standards of health and safety."
