A local housing trust is celebrating after one of their partners was awarded a highly prestigious award.
Richard Hillditch is site manager for Barratt Mercia at its Ellesmere Grange development on Ellesmere Road in Shrewsbury, where The Wrekin Housing Trust has nearly 50 new homes. He has been awarded the 'Quality Award' in the 2009 National House Building Council 'Pride in the Job Awards'.
Quality Awards are presented to site managers who are responsible for new build, conversion or housing association sites across the UK.
Carol Denning, Wrekin Housing Trust Housing Executive for the Shrewsbury area, said: "We're really pleased that Richard has been given this award as we found him a really great site manager to work with. He kept us well informed on the progress of our houses and was always happy to help."
Richard has worked for Barratt for four years and has worked on developments in Shrewsbury and Oswestry. He said: "I'm extremely happy to have been given this award as it's recognition of the team's hard work and shows that our partners and the people we work with are happy with the service we provide."
The Wrekin Housing Trust has worked with Barratt Homes to deliver high quality affordable houses and apartments, with 46 new homes made available for rent and shared ownership on the Ellesmere Grange site alone. For more information on The Wrekin Housing Trust visit www.wrekinhousingtrust.org.uk
