Gas service named as one of best in country
18 September 2008
The Wrekin Housing Trust has been recognised at a national awards ceremony for the service it provides to tenants.
At the Corgi Awards 2008, the Trust was named as one of the top three landlords in the country after the gas team was shortlisted for the Consumer Gas Safety award.
The Trust was shortlisted for the award due to the work that has been done to promote gas safety to tenants and the team's efforts to raise the profile of the dangers of carbon monoxide. Awareness of the key issues was raised by sending literature to tenants informing them of potential dangers, offering carbon monoxide detectors and training all relevant employees in gas safety so they can deal with any situation and pass on advice to tenants.
Fleur Whittingham, manager of the Gas team, said: "We have worked hard to ensure that our customers are aware of gas safety and what they should look out for if they think there is a problem. It is very pleasing that the team members have been recognised for their hard work and we will be continuing to work with tenants in the future in this way."
