Let there be light!
12 September 2008
The Wrekin Housing Trust is pleased to have been able to make a donation towards the Wem Christmas Festival lights.
The festival committee put out a plea for help last month as they were struggling to find the funding for this years event, and particularly for repairing the traditional Christmas lights.
The Trust has donated £1000 to the festival and Ann Whitfield, Secretary of Wem Christmas Festival Committee said "We are delighted with the money which will go towards repairing the lights and helping us to put on the Christmas festival again this year. We only wish other companies and businesses would support us as it would make such a difference."
Later this year, the Trust will have a number of brand new properties at Aston Street, Wem, available for rent and shared ownership. This is part of the ongoing development work being done to meet the increasing demand for affordable homes across Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Beverley Woodhead, Head of Communications and Marketing said "The Trust is pleased to be involved, this festival means a lot to the local residents and we are happy to be able to help."
