Animal friendly Trust awarded Bronze Housing Footprint
12 September 2008
The Wrekin Housing Trust is pleased to have been awarded the RSPCA's Bronze Housing Footprint, in recognition of its pet-friendly policies and procedures.
The RSPCA's Community Animal Welfare Footprints reward good practice and recognise and celebrate local authorities and housing providers that have gone above and beyond the call of duty in protecting animal welfare.
The Trust was awarded the Bronze Standard in the Housing Footprint category, a category specifically for housing providers. The Trust is the first social landlord in Shropshire to receive this award.
Morag Bailey, Continuous Improvement Manager at The Wrekin Housing Trust, said: "The award recognises the Trust's 'Keeping of Pets' policy, which was drawn up in consultation with our tenants, as good practice in tackling animal welfare issues. We now aim to build upon this success and work towards the Silver and Gold awards in future years."
Morag added: "This award demonstrates that the Trust takes the welfare of animals as seriously as the welfare of our tenants."
