Trust managers go back to school
18 March 2008
Managers from The Wrekin Housing Trust are going back to school to host a series of lessons for 200 pupils in Stone.
As part of the Trust's commitment to working with communities and young people, a lesson was held at Alleynes School in Stone recently. The Trust has held similar sessions in Telford in the past and plans to hold more in both Shropshire and Staffordshire through the year.
The lesson covered topics such as regeneration, the causes of anti social behaviour and the RESPECT agenda. Follow up lessons will involve a series of smaller discussion groups where the school pupils will get the chance to discuss the topics in more detail with Trust managers.
Nicky Harris, Deputy Head of Year nine, said: "It was an insightful presentation and the students got really engaged in the ideas put forward for regeneration."
Yvette Greasley, the Trust's Regeneration Manager, said: "As the Trust has recently developed nearly 60 new homes in the Stone and Stafford area, this was a great opportunity to discuss important issues with the students and get them thinking about their community."
