The Trust develops sustainable, high-quality, affordable homes across Shropshire and Staffordshire. We are planning to deliver around 1,000 new homes over the next four years.

To enable us to provide this number of quality homes for the community we apply for grant funding from the government via the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
In receiving this grant the Trust is then required to build to the Government's high standards to ensure properties:

• have enough space
• are sustainable – energy efficient and easy to adapt to meet people's needs in the future
• are accessible – for example some are built to allow wheelchair access or with room for a downstairs shower
• have good security.

Furthermore at our Dothill site in Wellington we are also required to provide homes for rent, shared ownership and sale. This helps to make sure we create well balanced, mixed communities and selling a small percentage of our new properties means that the Trust can invest more in much-needed social rented accommodation. It will also help more first time buyers get a foot on the property ladder during these difficult economic times.
