New homes
The Wrekin Housing Trust will be delivering more than 1,400 new homes over the next four years. The Trust has its own Development Consultancy who have the capacity and expertise to deliver this programme including both family and specialist care accommodation. We also develop on behalf our partner Choices Housing Association.

We have lead partner status with the Homes and Communities agency (HCA) which has enabled us to secure grant funding.  We work in partnership to bid for funding with Local Authorities in Shropshire, Stafford and Telford and Wrekin to assist in delivering schemes that meet their local priorities and investment strategies.

We work with local and national developers to negotiate the purchase of homes where there is an obligation to provide an element of affordable housing on the development.

We look to develop using our own land reserves or buying suitable land to build excellent quality affordable homes that meet the Homes and Communities Agency's Design and Quality Standards and to a minimum of Code for Sustainable Homes level 3.  Our success in developing affordable housing schemes is supported by working in partnership with a range of contractors and consultants. We have a consultant framework and invite contractors to tender who have a proven track record in working with Housing Associations and who have built to HCA standards.

We consult with communities, Parish Councils, specialist groups and tenants over development plans to ensure we meet the diverse needs of our customers in both the urban and rural environment.

We progress all our developments on a partnership basis and have the innovation and lean processes to deliver a wide variety of schemes on time and within budget.
