Completed developments - as at September 2008

Newport Infill project

We have recently completed several new developments.

Maddocks Court, Wellington
Following a successful planning application and consultations with residents in the nearby blocks of flats, fourteen new two and three bedroom houses have been built on this site. The scheme will include improved parking for existing residents, perimeter fencing, new landscaping and improved street lighting. Using a modern method of construction (MMC) to help reduce construction time and disruption, reduce costs and increase quality, and address the Housing Corporation's targets for more housing delivered by MMC.

Lancaster Avenue, Dawley
Utilising a small area of land previously acquired from Telford and Wrekin Council, this scheme will provide six three-bedroom houses for rent. Newport infill sites
The Trust is working on a project to build a number of two-bedroom bungalows for rent. Income generated by the sale of the Trust's High Street shop in Newport is being used to fund the project, which will bring much needed rented accommodation to the area. The new homes will be built on 3 separate areas of under-used land owned by the Trust to provide four two-bedroom three-person bungalows.

West 1
This infill development project will provide general needs housing for rent comprising seven new houses that are to be designed as 'land mark' buildings on selected in-fill sites. Additionally, a number of privately owned houses will be purchased and repaired for rent. Park lane, Woodside
The scheme, which was built by Penstermon Homes has provided sixteen homes.

Bearcroft, Hinstock
The scheme, which was built by Taylor Woodrow has provided twelve homes.

Shrewsbury Road, Cockshutt
The scheme, which was built by Pochin Homes has provided sixteen homes.

Tilling Drive, Stone
The scheme which was built by Persimmone Homes has provided eighteen homes.

Liverpool Road, Whitchurch
The scheme, which was built by Persimmon has provided thirteen homes.

Longslow Road, Market Drayton
The scheme, which was built by George Wimpey has provided forty six homes.

Charlotte Place, Ellesmere
The scheme, which was built by Bellway Homes has provided fifteen homes.

Church Farm, Tilstock
The scheme, which was built by Charles Church has provided eleven homes.

St Johns Hill, Shrewsbury
The scheme, which was built by Shropshire Homes provided one home.

Bomere Heath, Shrewsbury
The scheme, which was built by David McClean Homes has provided three homes.

Mount Road, Dawley
This saw the Trust working with Bailey Garner and Thomas Vale to redevelop a previously cleared site on which eleven bungalows for rent and fifteen properties for shared ownership were built. The Trust successfully secured a Housing Corporation grant to be able to carry out this development.

Burford, Brookside
A local authority redundant children's home, located in Brookside in the south of Telford was converted into a house to accommodate a large family with special needs. The Trust worked with the Borough of Telford & Wrekin and Social Services to accomplish this scheme.Partners on the project include:-Architect: Hawkins McGowan ArchitectsContractor: Mellor Construction, Cannock

The Three Avenues Project, St Georges
This involved the demolition of thirty-three defective pre-cast concrete construction bungalows and the redevelopment of forty-six purpose built two and three bedroom bungalows. Developed to Lifetime Homes Standard and the Housing Corporation's Scheme Development Standards, the project included resident consultation from the outset and has housed all the original residents, keeping the existing community together. The scheme was awarded Demonstration Status from the Housing Forum for 'Innovation in Partnering and Respect for People'.The development took place in four phases spanning three years and also provided seventeen new garages for rent with many units having carports.Partners on the project include:-Employers Agent/CDM Co-ordinator: Michael DysonArchitect: Baily Garner Contractor: Thomas Vale Construction

Pinfold Croft, Waters Upton
This provided four flats for rent and five houses that were sold as affordable shared ownership homes.
