ICT career coaching comes to Telford

Young people will have the chance to get an ICT apprenticeship with the Trust, following a software development boot camp being delivered by our ICT team.

Jake ICTThe Trust’s ICT team will spend three days coaching young people who are interested in a career in software developing, with those showing promise in the area being shortlisted for a possible apprenticeship opportunity with the local housing association.

The software boot camp will be held from Tuesday 29th March to Thursday 31st March at the Trust’s offices in Old Park, Telford. Aimed at students finishing their A-levels and those interested in starting a career in ICT, the boot camp will be led by the ICT coaching team and will teach attendees about software development and writing code, giving them chance to get involved and have a go themselves.

There will then be an opportunity to start an apprenticeship with the team, which could even lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Trust puts a high value on apprentices, with current and previous apprentices making up 15% of our workforce. As part of National Apprenticeship Week the ICT team will also be at The Apprenticeship Show at the International Centre this Thursday (17th March), another opportunity to find out more about opportunities within the team.

Places on the software development boot camp are limited so call Lesley on 01952 217080 to book a place.
